Synopsis/Review: Chronicle

Andrew (Dane DeHaan) was an unpopular student in the school. One day, he went to a party and filming the party. Apparently there were people who didn't like it, and angry with him.
Upset with what just had happened, he went out to calm himself.
Suddenly he's approached by Steve (Michael B. Jordan), the popular quarterback in the school. Steve asked Andrew to help him and Andrew's cousin, Matt (Alex Russel), to filming something.
Reluctant at first, but then agreed to follow Steve to somewhere inside the forest.

There, Steve and Andrew found a hole on the ground that sometimes produced big sound. Steve and Matt decided to enter the hole and asked Andrew to keep filming and follow them to inside the hole.
Apparently, they found something looked like a crystal inside the hole. Suddenly, they experienced nosebleed and the camera stop working.
After the event in the hole, they realized that they have the super power to move things, and they tried to use it for fun. They did a prank to people in the supermarket, in school, and more. More ... like when Andrew shifted a car into a river on their way home, and injured the driver.
Steve and Matt didn't like it and warned Andrew not to use it to something like that. They were angry with him, but angry because they cared with Andrew.
From here, the power tested the relationship between the three of them, or between Andrew and his father.
Will they use the power for bad things? Will they use the power to destroy each other?
...
This is really an interesting movie. Since I watched the trailer, if I'm not forgotten last year, I said to myself that I definitely should watch this movie.
Why? Because the film was made like it was filming using one hand-held camera. Since this technique was used in Cloverfield, I'm a big fan of this kind of movie. It's just made the movie looks more real.
I guess, Chronicle used a more advance technique. They not only used a view from Andrew's one hand-held camera, but also another camera view around them. That makes the movie looks great.
From the story itself, I thought before it's going to be like another teenage movie, but it doesn't. It's much more better than that. Another thing was I thought there're going to be a monster or something that they needed to fight, but no, the movie is more about the relationship between the three of them.
Love it!
