Synopsis/Review: Man on a Ledge

When a man was accused to be a guilty man and thrown to jail, sometimes the man would do anything to prove that he's innocent.

That's what happened when Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington), an ex-cop, when he was accused of stealing a $40-million diamond from a businessman, David Englander (Ed Harris). He was caught and put in jail because something that he didn't do.

One day, his father died. Nick was allowed to attend the funeral with a supervision. So he want to the funeral and met his brother, Joey Cassidy (Jamie Bell) and his girl friend, Angie (Genesis Rodriguez), but then he ran away.

Not long after that, Nick checked-in in a hotel. After having a meal, he decided to go out through a window and stand on a ledge of the building. So he became the man on a ledge, or the police called it the jumper.

After the police came and persuade him not to jump, finally Nick said that he would only talked to Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks), the negotiator. Mercer was famous because she failed to persuade one of the cop to jump from a bridge. The cop died, and she was depressed because of that.

After Mercer arrived, she then talked with Cassidy about why he was doing that.

So he then told her everything, and tried to convinced Mercer that he's not guilty.

In the mean time, his brother and his girl friend were in Englander's building, and they're trying to steal the diamond for the first time ...

So would Nick Cassidy convinced Mercer that he's innocent. Would his brother succeded stealing the diamond ... ?

...

I categorized Man on a Ledge to a drama with a small portion of thriller.

The movie was not quite interesting from the beginning until the middle, where the action began.

It has quite a few of comedic scenes in the movie, especially between his brother and the girl friend.

The movie doesn't really leave a quite impression to me, but it's still okay to watch ... :)
